About Us
Hooper Square is a development of 131 centrally situated apartments grouped round a delightful half acre garden. In addition, all of the apartments have their own private outside space, either a balcony, patio or a garden. Each apartment also has its own parking space or garage, and a few additional parking spaces are provided for visitors.
Hooper Square is very centrally located, being equidistant from Aldgate and Tower Hill underground stations and hence within easy walking distance of the City and less than two and a half miles from Canary Wharf.
Many of the apartments have their front doors on Hooper Street, Backchurch Lane, Bowman Mews or Conant Mews. Apartments on upper floors are accessed via Reception which is situated in Hooper Street. Reception is manned 24/7 providing both security and convenience for the whole development.
The development is not managed by any commercial management company. Instead, the Board of Directors of Hooper Square Residents’ Association Ltd, who are all owners of apartments in the development, are responsible for appointing an Estate Manager and overseeing his work. A wonderful team of Gurkha ex-soldiers provides security and concierge services 24/7. A professional gardener takes care of the lovely gardens. A permanent cleaner is employed to take care of all indoor cleaning, while a yard man is employed to ensure all the tidiness outside. Outside contractors, all known and trusted, take care of routine maintenance to keep the estate looking good, and careful budgeting enables the Board of Directors to ensure that, as the building ages, enhancements can be carried out so that the Estate is maintained to a consistently high standard. The Estate Manager organises all the staff and contractors and supervises and coordinates their work, manages day-to-day enquiries from residents and helps to resolve any disputes. The Board of Directors oversees all this closely, keeping in touch by informal meetings and emails, as well as holding formal meetings monthly to discuss progress, plan for the future and to ensure there is tight budgetary control of Hooper Square finances.
Hooper Square is a good place to live. The apartments are spacious and the environment is peaceful and healthier than most London environments thanks to the generously sized central garden which is available to all residents for rest and quiet recreation. The development is secure, being gated and having 24 hour security on site, video surveillance around the perimeter and a secure entry system requiring a key fob to enter.
